The colors of Autumn – in yarn

This is my favorite time of the year; and, one thing I love the most in the fall are the colors: orange, gold and brown — in every shade.   I received a gift this past weekend from my sister, Vali — a gift of Autumn color — all spun together into yarn.

This ball of orange/gold/brown yarn has traveled with me to work and sat on my desk at lunch while I surfed the interent looking for a pattern that would do the colors justice.  It also attended Stitchers with me on Monday night — where it barely escaped being kidnapped by my sister-stitchers.  It’s now safely at home, tucked into my knitting basket until it’s time to ‘cast on’ — now I just need to narrow the projects down to just one !

I just wish I had thought to take a picture before I wound it into a ball  — it was lovely in that state too — but I couldn’t wait another day to begin playing with my Autumny yarn.

The name of the yarn is ‘Twilight Wood’ – I think perhaps, it should have been named —  ‘Autumn Wood’ .     I can’t begin to thank my sister enough for this beautiful gift of Autumn!
