today :: September 9, 2010

outside . . .  a light drizzle of rain is falling, all that’s left of Tropical Storm Hermine.  (Texas got the brunt of this storm with damaging winds/tornadoes/flooding — here in the Sooner State, we got what we needed most — slow steady rain for 24 hours)

cooking/eating . . .  an Egg McMuffin from McD’s — I know it’s are not good for me, but I did my time on the treadmill this morning — and, I fool myself into thinking it’s better for me than 4 Krispie Kreme donuts !

creating . . .  lots of sewing — a lap quilt for Willie Jay and quilted blankies for two new babies being welcomed into our family this month.

remembering . . .  just about anything I remember these days is a cause for celebration — more and more ‘Senior Moments’ are creeping into my life !

reading . . .   ‘Three Cups of Tea’ and ‘The Handmaiden’s Tale’ — both came to me through my new source for books — The Paperback Swap http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php    I recommend both books as certified ‘Good Reads’ !

hoping . . .  that my relationship with new treadmill will grow and flourish — which will make my GP & Cardiologist both, very happy.

hearing . . .  a very quiet office (which stands to reason when you come into work a half hour early!).

home . . .  thinking about how that word can mean many things ::  a house you share with those you love,  your chosen place of worship (your ‘church home’),  the house you grew up in (and, here in the Oklahoma, we still call that ‘home’ too), — I’m giving thanks for the blessing of lots of ‘homes’ in my life.

tonight . . .  a quick dinner of leftover Garlic Chicken w/ Roasted Veggies, followed by a couple of hours of baby blankie construction.

from my picture journal . . .

The new treadmill — I’m thinking of calling it Bruce or Arnold or maybe Connor !
