There’s been some changes in my little sewing corner. Gone are the ugly white tables — there’s only one table and it is a real table – no folding legs here. This sleek table is courtesy of my daughter — looks rather grownup I think.
Also gone is most of the sewing/quilting/crafting ‘stuff’. Stuff that was mostly clutter — there’s something about filling every horizontal space with ‘stuff’ that’s deeply imbedded in my genes. Which means I need to seriously work on keeping my new/improved corner all neat and tidy. I’m making a promise to myself to control the ‘stuff’ –perhaps just having one table will help. Which means that all the mess that is just out of the frame in the above picture – – –
– – – yes, this stuff – – all these piles of ‘works in progress’ – books – storage baskets – and a large bin of fabric – – – all of it must find a home on a large bookshelf that will soon be in this corner. The ‘stuff’ must be tucked away into storage containers, bins or baskets and placed up on the shelves. And, when that happens, the process of creating will begin again. Or at least that’s the plan.
But, while I’m wait for the bookcase, I’m doing happy research for a new sewing machine for my 60th birthday — courtesy of my Willie Jay.
